Welcome to the International Law Association Conference 2010

As chairman of the Netherlands Society of International Law (NVIR), which also serves as the Dutch branch of the International Law Association, I am delighted to invite you to ILA 2010, which will be held in the country of birth of Grotius, one of the founders of international law. In 2010, our Society also celebrates its 100th anniversary and we hope to share this joy with you as well.

We are vigorously endeavouring to make ILA 2010 into a most memorable conference that will help to achieve the objective of the ILA of promoting the rule of law in international affairs and in doing so provide our contribution towards peace and justice through international law.
